The former Democratic congresswoman from Georgia who now is the Green Party's candidate for president has claimed the government killed 5,000 prison inmates during Hurricane Katrina, dumping their bodies in a Louisiana swamp, according to a Fox News report.

Cynthia McKinney told a news conference in Oakland., Calif., Sunday she heard the story from the mother of a National Guard soldier, and she checked it with "insiders" who want to remain anonymous.

"And these were mostly males and her son was afraid to talk because he had signed a silence agreement," McKinney said, according to Fox News. "So he only complained to his mother. But the data was entered into a Pentagon computer."

Mark Steyn on the Palin/Biden debate

with a wink and a smile

In a conventional presidential environment, Bidenesque fake authenticity would be enough. Up against Sarah Palin’s authentic authenticity, I’m not so sure. All I know is that the McCain campaign should have her out on the road and doing every interview she can over this final month.

The Biden Error/Lie/Hallucination List (UPDATED to 24)

Jim Geraghty |New Republic Online | October 03

Below, you’ll find a list of 14 “lies” Biden told last night, distributed by the McCain campaign. I’d just note two observations: first, when you tell stories of things that didn’t happen with the frequency of Joe Biden, coupled with his fervent belief of these untrue and inaccurate statements, I don’t think “lie” is the appropriate term. “Hallucinations” seems more accurate, I think. Second, they missed a bunch, so Biden’s list of li- er, hallucinations is well beyond 14.

NYT's Ayers-Obama Whitewash [Stanley Kurtz]

As others have noted, today’s New York Times carries a story on the relationship between Barack Obama and unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayers. The piece serves as a platform for the Obama campaign and Obama’s friends and allies. Obama’s spokesman and supporters’ names are named and their versions of events are presented in detail, with quotes. Yet the article makes no serious attempt to present the views of Obama critics who have worked to uncover the true nature of the relationship. That makes this piece irresponsible journalism, and an obvious effort by the former paper of record to protect Obama from the coming McCain onslaught.

Cameron Interviews Post-Debate Palin
by Shushannah Walshe

ST. LOUIS –- Fox News’ Carl Cameron conducted the first post-debate interview with Sarah Palin this morning. The extensive interview went over last night’s Vice-Presidential face off, her debate prep, campaign strategy, media access and the hits she has been getting for not having more access to the media, and of course the much talked about and criticized interview she did with CBS’s Katie Couric.

Obama Youth - reminds you of another era

I'm late in finding this -- the Obama side has already pulled down the video. Too easy a target to be mocked? I guess so. You can still see it here if you click the link:

This video superimposes Nazi footage over the Obama kids choir:
